Professional Court Reporters
A Charleston native, Haley is an NVRA-certified voice writer. After honing her skills at the College of Court Reporting, she earned her national certification ahead of schedule in March 2024 and has been a key part of Magnolia Reporting ever since. Dedicated to preserving the record for clients throughout the Lowcountry, Haley also serves as a leader in her field, sitting on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Court Reporters Association (SCCRA). Off the clock, she enjoys running, playing the piano, and spending time with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs.
Tarin graduated from Sage College with an Associate’s degree in Court Reporting in 2006 and has been a Certified Shorthand Reporter since that time. She began her career as an official court reporter in criminal and juvenile court, where she served for 12 years.
During her tenure as an official reporter, Tarin reported a wide range of proceedings, including numerous death penalty trials, and regularly provided realtime services and daily copies. Her courtroom experience required a high level of accuracy, discretion, and the ability to perform under demanding and time-sensitive conditions.
Tarin is licensed in California and is also a South Carolina Notary Public. After relocating to the Upstate of South Carolina in 2021, she continues to provide professional reporting services with a strong commitment to precision, reliability, and the integrity of the record.
When not on the record, Tarin enjoys exploring the scenic outdoors of South Carolina, reading a good book, and spending time with her husband and two teenage boys over the perfect cup of coffee.
Mary Ann completed the court reporting program at Cittone Institute in Edison, New Jersey, in the spring of 1991 and earned her Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) designation from the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) soon thereafter. Professionally, she has served on the board of the South Carolina Court Reporters Association in the position of director, secretary, vice president, and three terms as president. She also served two consecutive three-year terms as chair of NCRA’s Committee on Professional Ethics, as well as several other committee positions.
Over the past three decades, she has presented seminars and continuing education programs on a wide range of topics at both the state and national levels.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, going to the gym, and hosting large, boisterous family gatherings. She and her husband, Bill, have been married since 1989. They enjoy traveling and ticking off destinations on their extensive wish list.
